Stromme, a Norwegian development organization, has worked with local organizations in West Africa to develop groundbreaking, replicable programs that provide children a second chance at education in three of the world’s least developed nations: Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. Speed School serves out-of-school children ages 8 to 12, allowing them to pass public school entrance exams so they can then properly enter the school system and continue their education. By the end of 2009, more than 35,000 children will enjoy the life-long benefits of education, thanks to this concept.

Your contribution makes the program available to even more children, where as many as three million could benefit from Speed School across the three West African countries. The ambitious Global Education Fund also provides similar opportunities to children in Bangladesh, with a focus on girls, and to teenage girls a world away in the slums of Peru’s cities.
