Ask me about:

Business Development, scaling Geneva Global Uganda’s operations , and work-life balance

From his time as a primary school headteacher to working across several local and international humanitarian organizations, Adnan has touched all levels of education in his 15-year career.  He has developed cross-functional skills across training, mentorship, and clinical support supervision to drive collaborations across stakeholders, partners, and program teams.

Since 2022, Adnan has served as the Education Program Manager for Geneva Global Uganda. As a member of this team, Adnan provides leadership over the technical management and implementation of the education programs. Adnan collaborates with all levels of government, development partners, schools, and the local communities.  He leverages his technical expertise to provide assistance, guidance, and support to partner organizations, national non-government organizations (NGOs), and community-based organizations to plan and implement quality education programs.

Prior to joining Geneva Global Uganda, Adnan worked as an Education Program Coordinator at the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) where he led the overall field operations and operations of their education programs.

Adnan is passionate about working for Geneva Global because the work challenges him to learn and apply new skills in his day-to-day work. He also loves being able to work with his team to reach their full potential and adapt different techniques to let his teammates succeed.  This extends beyond his work into his personal life. Working at Geneva Global brings Adnan a new sense of confidence and passion to help others learn too.

What book, film, or quote has shaped the way you think?

Max Planck’s insightful observation, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change,” has shaped the way I see our perceptions informing our realities.  It’s a philosophical gem that reminds me of the power of perceptions.

How many countries have you visited?

I have visited 5 countries, all in Africa namely, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, South Sudan and DR Congo.

Why did you decide to work at Geneva Global?

I decided to work at Geneva Global because I always wished to work in education programs and the role surpassed all my expectations.

What brings you joy?

The natural flow of breath and being grateful when I wake up every day and get to live another day brings me so much joy.
