Ask me about:

Ask me about Marvel movies, horror literature, and traditional Filipino tattoos.

Abby’s Midwestern roots and Filipino heritage drive her passion in life to serve her community and build a fair, equitable world. She firmly believes that taking the opportunity to learn every day, no matter how big or small, and prioritizing human connection will encourage more empathy and kindness for your fellow person. In everything she pursues personally and professionally, Abby seeks to uplift underrepresented, marginalized communities and spur social change.

Prior to Geneva Global, Abby worked in publishing, film journalism, agtech communications, and libraries. Across these experiences, she enjoyed working closely with her local community and on projects that make a difference in people’s lives. Additionally, Abby’s undergraduate leadership experience managing events and large-scale cultural programs also informed her enthusiasm to collaborate effectively and creatively with her peers.

Currently, Abby builds upon her relationship management, storytelling, and community engagement skills as part of the Donor Advising Team. She thoroughly enjoys her work supporting clients and collaborating with her colleagues to create strategic, equitable solutions and push for greater impact on a global scale.

Abby holds dual bachelor’s degrees in English and Creative Writing from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She centered her English concentration on horror literature and media studies, exploring how the genre continues to evolve and inform our world’s sociopolitical landscape in her senior thesis.

Why did you decide to work at Geneva Global?

The pivot to work in philanthropy felt like the right next step in my career. When I started at Geneva Global, the sector was entirely new to me and a bit daunting to navigate, but I knew my innate curiosity and my team could help show the way. I was (and still am) excited to learn more about how our work can shape highly impactful initiatives globally. I also remain energized and inspired by the people and our mission to expand what’s possible through philanthropy.
