Education

Supporting education to give young people the opportunity to dream. Download the Fact Sheet >>

Throughout the developing world, education faces the dual challenges of poor quality and limited access, compounded by extreme poverty, displacement, and other factors. Strengthening teaching and learning and providing alternative pathways to formal education can offer a lifeline for marginalized children, their families, and their communities. Our team is passionate about overcoming education challenges. Whether you seek support in the design of an education initiative or in full-on program implementation, we can help.

Promoting High-Quality, Relevant Education Worldwide

Geneva Global believes that high-quality, relevant education is a basic human right, one that requires action by actors across society and to which the international community can contribute meaningfully. Most critical to achieving this goal are effective teachers. Therefore, we work diligently and creatively to support international funders and nationwide education systems to equip and empower teachers, enabling them to guide student achievement to truly meaningful learning.

We stand ready to contribute to your organization’s education giving goals in one or more of the following ways:

Strengthen curriculum and its delivery.

Educating for fulfillment in life and livelihood requires more than content memorization and test taking. We can help transform education with curricula that instill students in 21st century skills and with pedagogic methods that engage teachers actively and creatively to use curriculum to cultivate these skills.

Reinforce teacher training and support.
Training alone rarely translates into better teaching and learning. To generate truly improved education outcomes, we can help elevate education systems through the implementation of improved, holistic teacher-training strategies along with more effective teacher monitoring and support and peer-led, continuing professional development.
Mobilize parents and communities.

Parents are vital to children’s school success. Our model mobilizes and strengthens parental participation, building their knowledge and skills for economic and social empowerment to create conditions for greater learning for their children at home and in school.

Strengthen system implementation.

Achieving better education outcomes does not happen at a ministry or in a classroom alone. We can help you invest in improvements to an education system’s critical “plumbing” at all levels and for its many functions—e.g., training, curriculum, supervision, and others—and in orchestrating effective connections across these many functions.

Expand access to quality learning.

Drawing on our experience with the Speed School program, we can help you find and implement solutions to help children who have missed out on formal education for whatever reason—poverty, gender, disability, displacement, or other causes—transition into formal education and thrive there through an accelerated learning opportunity.

Our work with Geneva Global has been a true partnership, which has made it extremely rewarding and impactful. Geneva Global has taken the time to understand the novel approaches we’re experimenting with, and rather than oversimplifying our objectives to replicate something they’ve done before, have collaborated closely with us to design and adaptively manage engagements that achieve our goals. The quality of our thinking and execution has greatly benefitted from the depth of experience, insight, and camaraderie they have brought to our work together.
