Speed School Feature on NBS National Ugandan Television Network

The Speed School program was recently highlighted on NBS, a national Ugandan news network, in which the anchor discusses the challenges posed by COVID-19 school closures and the struggles of students who have lost valuable learning time. The Speed School program’s model has helped children, particularly those affected by conflict, poverty, and discrimination, succeed in their education. The report spotlighted a lively classroom where students were cheerful and engaged, demonstrating the hands-on skills they have gained. The Speed School model’s effectiveness, with its student-centered approach, has even led traditional schools to seek Speed School facilitators, as it yields better learning outcomes than conventional methods. The program places students at the forefront of their learning, with teachers acting as facilitators, mentors, and coaches. The at-home model used during the pandemic has been particularly successful, as students are already accustomed to taking charge of their own education.
