Geneva Global Ethiopia Team Produces Video on the Impact of Speed School on Over-Aged Girls in Oromia

In Ethiopia’s Babile district, Geneva Global and its partners are enhancing education access through the ECW Multi-Year Resilience Program, focusing on emergency-affected areas. Ashrefa Abdela, a Grade 3 student who excelled in her first semester after joining a Speed School initiative, is showcased as an example of Speed School excellence. Her homeroom teacher, Ahmed Jemal Abluhakim, praises her and her classmates for outperforming peers from traditional school. Speed School, in contrast to a traditional classroom, uses a holistic, activity-based learning approach. Speed School offers children, especially girls, a second chance at education, helping them pursue their dreams—like becoming a teacher or a doctor—while emphasizing the fundamental right to learn.
