Growing campaign success by empowering and training employees

The International Monetary Fund was looking to enhance their campaign strategy and marketing materials to increase awareness and engagement. Their team was interested in exploring volunteer opportunities for employees and sought to increase support for those devastated by disasters around the world.

The approach

Global Impact, Geneva Global’s parent organization, played a key role in launching the IMF’s employee ambassador program by supporting recruitment efforts and conducting training. They equipped the team with communication tools, including photography, success stories, and impact statements aligned with the campaign’s theme. Additionally, Global Impact created a year-round calendar of volunteer partnerships that celebrated initiatives like MLK Day of Service, International Women’s Day, and efforts supporting child refugees and education. To enhance disaster response efforts, they established restricted funds that aligned with IMF’s gift-matching policy, allowing employees to maximize their matching contributions and increasing support for disaster victims.

As a result, within the first two years of the ambassador program, interest doubled from approximately 50 to 100 IMF employees, with a high return rate of ambassadors each year. Since launching, the program has seen an 88% increase in participation. In 2018, the team organized three volunteer engagements aligned with international observances, assembling 2,000 hygiene kits for Hurricane Maria survivors, 2,500 women’s hope kits, and 750 backpacks for child refugees.
