Ask me about:

Philanthropic strategy, project management, and my experience as a first-generation college student

Dan approaches his work with enthusiasm and is always looking for opportunities to grow professionally. His critical eye and insightful questions help generate meaningful conversations that drive his work forward. Building shared knowledge and understanding is an important aspect of the work for Dan.

Prior to Geneva Global, Dan worked as a college access and attainment professional serving high achieving, first-generation, lower income students of color from New York City. He created and implemented a college prep curriculum for high school juniors and seniors, and a coaching program for first- and second-year college students. Dan’s commitment to equity and access is always a high consideration in his work with Geneva Global as he collaborates with a welcoming and motivated team.

Dan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Health and Societies with a concentration in Public Health, and a minor in Fine Arts. In his free time, Dan enjoys strength building, practicing his Spanish, and reading the Quran with his wife.

What book, film, or quote has shaped the way you think?

Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. When describing his resolve to endure his time during the Holocaust, Viktor quotes Friedrich Nietzsche who said, “He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” Every day, I reflect on what I am grateful for, and remind myself of the bigger picture when navigating life’s challenges.

How many countries have you visited?

In early 2023, I married my childhood best friend, and throughout the same year, we have had the privilege of traveling to six different countries. Prior to getting married, I had never ventured beyond the borders of the US. This experience has been incredibly humbling and enriching as we have had the opportunity to connect with people from various corners of the globe

What brings you joy?

I love spending time with my wife and with my ever-growing family! The holidays are always a fun time for me to play with my nieces and nephews or to catch up with my in-laws. I also love building community and bringing people together.

Who or what has inspired you to do the work you do?

Growing up in a low-income household, I gained a profound appreciation for the significance of a strong educational background. As the first in my family to graduate from both high school and college, I became acutely aware of the numerous obstacles to accessing quality education, both domestically and internationally. Throughout my college studies, I delved into the intricate web of social determinants of health and their impact on health disparities. This exploration has propelled me to prioritize equity and accessibility in all aspects of my work. Working at Geneva Global, I am grateful for the opportunity to influence those in positions of power, enabling them to make substantial differences in the health and opportunities of underserved communities worldwide.
