Ask me about:

My professional experience, being a team player, and how to be committed and self-supervised

From working as an Education Assistant to Head Teacher and serving multiple education-oriented organizations, Chandiga has honed his skills in education for over 20 years. He has developed a vast knowledge of how to best support facilitators through both working as an educator himself and supporting other educators in their classrooms.

Between 2005 to 2019, Chandiga worked at the Moyo District Local Government. He began as an Education Assistant II and moved up through multiple positions including Senior Education Assistant, Deputy Head Teacher, and finally Head Teacher. At Mott MacDonald Limited, Chandiga served as a District Education Systems Strengthening Coordinator before working for the British Council Uganda as a Master Trainer. Further pursuing his passion for education, Chandiga worked as a National Volunteer-Teacher for Voluntary Services Overseas until May 2025, when he joined Geneva Global Uganda.

Now, as a Program Officer at Geneva Global Uganda, Chandiga utilizes his experience to coach and support Speed School facilitators, readying them for teaching and instructing their classes. He also coordinates district local government with the Geneva Global Kampala office, providing a critical link between classes and technical providers.

Who or what has inspired you to do the work you do?

What inspired me to do the work I do is having the ability to give hope to the children who lost any hope of going back to school. Speed school has given hope for such learners and it has inspired me to work to help out of school children realize this hope.

What three words would you use to describe your colleagues?

My colleagues are supportive, experienced, and dedicated to their work.

Why are you passionate about your work at Geneva Global?

My work gives children who dropped out of school due to various reasons the opportunity to rejoin classes and follow their dreams. These children who dropped out of school are our future. “Our children are our Future.”

Secondly, the work at Geneva global engages the parents, who are vital to their children’s education. The majority of parents are “sleeping giants” and do not provide adequate support for the education of their children. Through this work, parents are awakened from their sleep and, through Self-Help Groups are able to support the education of their children.
