As a philanthropic advisor, our core business model is built around helping clients do the most good they can. Creating positive social impact is naturally embedded into our business model.

That’s why we decided to become a Certified B Corporation.

Certified B Corporations are a new type of corporation which use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Corp certification is to sustainable business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk.

We’re proud to join over 2,000 other corporations worldwide that are voluntarily meeting higher standards of transparency, accountability, and social and environmental performance, and providing a positive vision of a better way to do business.

“Given that a core principle of ours is to be transparent and honest with clients about the outcomes and impact of the philanthropic work we do on their behalf, it felt like the right decision to be transparent and accountable in how we run our company, too,” said Doug Balfour, CEO of Geneva Global. “Businesses can play an important role in bringing about transformative, systemic change, and we want to be a part of the movement that’s demonstrating there’s a better way to do business.”

In order to become a B Corporation, B Lab, the nonprofit that certifies and supports B Corporations, conducted a rigorous evaluation of our business practices across a variety of criteria, including governance, worker benefits, community engagement, and environment.

Some of the highlights that led to our score include:

  • A mission to help clients improve the lives of marginalized and underserved populations around the world
  • Environmental practices in our workplace, including using 100% wind-generated electricity, automatic sensors for lighting, energy-efficient appliances, and public transit accessibility
  • A comprehensive employee benefits package, including up to 100% of medical premiums covered by the company, a 401k savings plan with a 3% match, and maternity and paternity leave
  • Our own annual Corporate Social Responsibility program that engages all employees across the company in granting to local and international organizations
